Another island... Canadian style :)

Hi everybody!!

So, here we go, things have changed...

First of all, we sold Stan and bought Pumba :) Et oui, un peu triste mais c'est comme ça, un jour quand j'aurais de l'argent et choisi un continent, je m'en acheterais un tout beau et bien rouge :) Mais bon, pour aller jusqu'en Alaska, un vieux VW, tout aussi cool qu'il soit, n'est pas forcement l'idéal! En tout cas on l'a vendu a Calvin, un jeune Canadien qui veut traverser le pays pour aller à la fac, donc si ça strouve on se verra par la bas!

So, well, we did all that while we were in Victoria. Alex and Anneke went on and kept travelling for a while together. In the meantime we were having some new awesome couchsurfing experiences, and trying all the café of the city!!!!!!! 

Café and restaurants cos we've been lucky enough to meet the owner of the best Mexican restaurant in town!! Youhou! We wer sitting at the warf having fresh seafood chowder when those two Mexicans sat down next to us. We start talking in Spanish about food and Mexico and Canada etc etc... And they gave us a voucher to come for lunch for 2 people the next day! Oh god, the food was delicious! Close your eyes and you're back in Mexico!!!

We first stayed with Ben, in Victoria downtown, having good dinner and good wine, and then we moved to a little house next to a muddy but cute beach, sleeping on their driveway with ocean view. Immediatement à l'aise avec Joel et Johanna qui nous emmèront chez tout leurs potes, enchainant barbek, dinners, anniv et journée glandage au soleil, le tout en musique, ABSOLUMENT tout le temps. Grands mélomanes, super sound system et beaucoup d'instruments divers et variés, on a encore découvert de la bonne musique! Ah, et ils ont le kaléidoscope le plus cool du monde!!

Au milieu de tout ce bon temps, on arrive quand même à vendre Stan ET à racheter un nouveau mini van. Plus petit, deux fois moins cher (et trois fois moins de style) et beaucoup moins cher en essence (et oui, le super pour Stan ça nous revenait un peu cheros!). Pour la petite histoire, on l'a appellé Pumba, car moi, disant à Cindy en faisant allusion à nos bas de caisse: "Sport" elle comprend "Ce porc" et me répond "Ah bah ouais, on a qu'à l'appeller Pumba" hahaha!!

Et comme on est chanceuses ou on l'est pas, Calvin qui vient d'acheter Stan est aussi un peu menuisier et nous propose de nous construire un lit à l'arrière de Pumba! Un lit pliable car il faut qu'on puisse utiliser les sièges pour Souaz et Tony!! Le seul hic est qu'il travaille puis doit aller au foot, il nous propose donc de se retrouver à 21H! Pas de problèmes, en attendant, on traine par la...

Al, la la, have to work on that tan cos after a good winter season, you're as white as you can possibly be!!!! Horrible!!

Arrive le soir, et c'est sur le parking d'un pote a lui que Calvin nous construira en moins d'une heure un super lit pliable!!!

So, time to hit the road again!!!!  And what a road!!!

We drive from beach to beach, stoping as much as we can, sleeping in the nicest spot possible according to the fact that we're freedom camper and not really planning to pay any accomodation...

The road along the Canadian hwy is a trip in itself.

Another dinner with a view, AND with action cos around here we gonna see two orcas, or killer whales no matter how you call them :)

And finally, after hearing soooooooo much about it, we arrived in Tofino!! Tofino where we'll catch up with Alex and Anneke! Finally!! On récupère Anneke et Alex reprend la route pour quitter l'île ayant moins de temps que nous, il doit aller un peu plus vite que notre rythme de croisière!

Quand la mer et les montagnes font bon ménage même sous un ciel gris!!

Et comme on a encore un peu de chance en rab, we happend to be here on the annual salmon food festival!!! Youhouhou, free food! Wandering from stall to stall, we've got to try a sample of this wonderful fresh food, all salmon based! Chowder, ceviche, rillette, you name it!

And because you can't eat without drinking, we also got to sample the locally brewed beer!

And because we're definately lucky, let's face it :), it's also happend to be THE annual day of Clayoquot island visit! Free water taxi all day to get to that little beautiful island!

If you like gardens, it's a place for you!

Après une journée passée dans les jardins et sur les plages de cette île, on retourne à Tofino sous la pluie... Pas de bol, ils prévoient de la flotte pour la semaine. A trois dans un mini van n'étant pas l'idéal, on décide de partir... Nos plans d'aller faire du surf tombe à l'eau c'est le cas de la dire :( Tant pis, c'est comme ça!!

Sur le chemin de rtour on s'arrête à Cathedrale Grove, une des plus ancienne forêt sur Terre:::!!! Avec des bons grands gros arbre comme on les aime!!

Et biensure! Of course! What did we found in Vancouver island!!!??? The little dream house hanging on trees!!!

The owner, ingenieur, was extremely nice and took time to give us a little tour!! We went inside the 3 spheres, I love it I love it I love it!!! I want one as a spare room filled with books and pillows, hight up in a tree with a beautiful view and a zip line to get down... Well, just need to save 150 000 dollars, wich isn't that bad in the end!

Well, well, well... Better go to sleep instead of daydreaming like that...

C'est pas dangereux de croiser des ours comme ça dans la nature? Et la maison en oeilc'est vraiment génial que tu aies pu la visiter!!!Tu parles de quand tu auras choisi un continent, je pensais que ton choix était fait. Plein de bisoux ma douce.

Cela faisait quelques temps que je n'avais pas été sur ton blog. Si j'ai bien compris, tu as repris la route après la saison d'hiver.

Je te souhaite bonne route. L'Alaska, je ne connais pas du tout, cela m'interesse d'en savoir plus, de voir tes photos et de lire tes commentaires, tjs tres interessants et bien ecrits.

Donc, bon vent, continue à croquer la vie comme tu le fais, a + bises JM
